Sandra is an experienced Attorney-at-Law with over 20 years experience, specialising in Regulatory and Compliance. As the former Head of Compliance & Reporting Services at two leading global offshore law firms, she has provided Anti-Money Laundering , Compliance and Regulatory services both internally and in a client facing capacity. Her expertise extended to the role of legal counsel at the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority, where she supported the Regulatory, Compliance and Operational divisions and served as the legal assessor for the Caribbean Financial Action Task Force.
Sandra has held leadership roles in various associations, including Chairman of the Caribbean Regional Compliance Association and President of the Cayman Islands Compliance Association. She is also actively involved in supporting the Anti-Money Laundering and Financial Crime Caribbean Task Force for the Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists (ACAMS). Sandra is a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist and a Certified Trainer for ACAMS, with additional designations as a Trust and Estate Practitioner. She also sits on various public/private partnership working groups and speaks regularly at conferences on these topics.
Her commitment to community involvement is evident through her roles with the R3 Cayman Foundation, YMCA of the Cayman Islands, and past governance work at the Cayman Prep and High School. Her passion for sharing knowledge is reflected in her guest lectures at the Truman Bodden Law School.
